About the Company SchuF is an international industrial valve company specialising in the design and manufacture of process-critical valves. We are currently recruiting a skilled CNC Machinist to join our manufacturing team in Cork. Role Overview The CNC Machinist will be responsible for the manufacture of small-batch metal components from engineering drawings, working to tight tolerances. The role involves programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machinery within a precision engineering environment. Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture precision components from engineering drawings to tight tolerances
- Program, set, and operate CNC turning machines
- Operate CNC lathes and/or mill-turn machines
- Ensure production targets and quality standards are met
- Inspect finished components using appropriate measuring equipment
- Identify and resolve machining issues to ensure efficiency and quality
- Maintain a safe and organised work environment Requirements
- Minimum FETAC Level 6 qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering or technical discipline
- Or Minimum 4 years’ CNC turning experience (setting and operating)
- Proven experience in CNC programming (lathes or mill-turn machines)
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience working to tight tolerances in a manufacturing environment
- Good attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team Skills and Competencies
