Position Overview
As a Parts Counterperson , you will play an important role in supporting both customers and our service department by assisting with parts sales, inventory management, and providing exceptional customer service. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, has strong attention to detail, and wants to grow within the automotive industry.
Responsibilities
- Assist retail customers and service technicians with parts inquiries and purchases
- Manage the parts sales process from start to finish
- Locate and source parts through vendors and suppliers when inventory is unavailable
- Process customer special orders and ensure accurate order fulfillment
- Communicate with customers regarding parts availability, pricing, and order status
- Maintain accurate inventory records and assist with stock organization
- Work closely with the Parts Manager and Service Department to meet customer needs
- Deliver outstanding customer service with professionalism and urgency
- Follow company safety procedures and dealership policies
- Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local automotive regulations
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Automotive parts experience is a plus, but not required
- Customer service or retail experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Basic computer proficiency preferred
- Detail-oriented with a strong work ethic
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to multitask while maintaining accuracy
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods throughout the workday
- Frequent computer use and phone communication
- Must be able to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds
