Senior Solution Architect (m/f/d) Industrial AI & Data

We're looking for a Senior Solution Architect (m/f/d ) to join our Industrial AI & Automation Business Unit. We enable factories to think and act through software, data, and physical automation, and automate engineering and business workflows with AI. Recent projects include a Factory Intelligence Hub, AI-assisted engineering automation, and MES/IIoT platforms. You'll consult industrial and business clients on automation and data challenges, then stay involved through delivery with an interdisciplinary team that designs and builds.

Your Role

• Design and build data & analytics platforms at scale, including data warehouses, RAG pipelines, and AI systems that go beyond standard LLMs – from PoC through to production, on cloud, on-premise, or edge
• Lead technical discovery and architecture work with clients: assess the current state, define target architectures, select the right tech stack, and own the path to get there
• Design data architectures and data products for industrial and business environments, including the underlying infrastructure that makes them work reliably
• Identify where AI creates real value in engineering and industrial processes, and translate that into solutions that actually get shipped
• Work across client stakeholders from business, OT, and IT: communicating technical decisions clearly to both engineers and decision makers – while supporting internal teams with code reviews, architecture guidance, and mentoring
• Contribute to shaping the BU: from sales support (scoping, proposals, technical conversations) to improving how we build and deliver as a team

Your Profile

• 5+ years in customer-facing technical roles (consulting, solution architecture, or similar), with a proven track record of delivering production-ready systems
• Strong foundation in ML and data engineering, including designing real-world data architectures and data products
• Proficient in Python and SQL, with hands-on experience using tools like Spark, Kafka, Airflow, MLflow, or common ML frameworks
• Comfortable working across cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP) as well as on-premise and hybrid environments
• Experience in industrial or enterprise business contexts, or a strong willingness to learn the domain quickly
• Confident communicator in both German and English, with a university degree in a technical discipline (CS, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or similar)
