Position: Room Attendant
Reports to: Executive Housekeeper
Purpose of the position
Responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms and any other areas that may be assigned based on hotel and brand standards.
Essential Responsibilities
- Keeps a clean and well-stocked cart at all times.
- Meet the appropriate entry requirements for the rooms.
- Clean assigned rooms to hotel and brand standards.
- Correctly use the cleaning products that only the hotel supplies.
- Record the status of the room on the assignment sheet and codes over the phone.
- Report any damage or hazards present in guest rooms, i.e. burnt out light bulbs, broken furniture, working bathroom, etc.
- It ensures that guest rooms are secured at all times.
- It keeps chute rooms and linen rooms tidy and safe at all times.
- Follow proper lost and found procedures.
- All assigned keys must be logged in and out daily.
Other responsibilities
- Attends company orientation and other meetings as needed.
- Comply with all policies and procedures.
- You will be expected to perform any related duties requested by the supervisor.
- Helps other team members when needed.
- Follow safety, security, and emergency procedures and rules.
- Wear protective gear.
- Report accidents, injuries, hazards, near misses, defective equipment, property damage, or loss to the supervisor.
Physical Demands/Abilities
- Communicate effectively with guests and team members, i.e., provide information, answer questions, etc.
- Written communication skills to mark completed classrooms on daily paperwork.
- Stands and/or walks for different, often long, periods of time.
- Must be able to lift thirty pounds (30) individually, reaching two
one hundred (200) pound carts, or collectively helping team members move larger
load above the weight limits mentioned above.
- It requires manual dexterity to use and handle all the necessary equipment.
- Visually inspect rooms for asymmetry, cleanliness, and possibly guests' belongings left in empty rooms.
- Work in a demanding and physical environment, with adverse fluctuations
temperatures.
- Frequent reaching, turning, bending, walking, standing, climbing stairs,
driving and smiling.
