Product Owner

Marosa is a leading FinTech company based in Vigo, specialising in tax technology and e-invoicing/e-reporting. Our mission is to simplify global VAT compliance for multinational companies through powerful and user-centric software.

We are looking for a Product Owner to lead the evolution of VATify , our VAT compliance and e-invoicing/e-reporting platform. You will be the voice of the customer within the development team and the person responsible for translating product strategy into a prioritised, actionable backlog, with end-to-end ownership of delivery. You will connect business needs, regulatory obligations and product vision with the day-to-day work of engineering, making sure every sprint delivers real value to the user.

What You Will Do

•

Keep a product backlog that is prioritised, refined and has clear acceptance criteria at all times, aligned with strategy and roadmap.

•

Write unambiguous user stories and functional specs, so engineering never has to chase you for clarifications.

•

Lead the agile ceremonies (refinement, sprint planning , review and retrospective) consistently, in collaboration with the CPTO and Tech Lead.

•

Unblock the team during delivery: triage, trade-offs and escalation when needed.

•

Act as the main bridge between engineering, design, QA and business stakeholders (customers, sales, support, compliance).

•

Translate regulatory requirements (VAT, e-invoicing, country-specific rules) into actionable specs.

•

Coordinate with the implementation and customer success teams so changes land cleanly with the customer.

•

Define and enforce clear acceptance criteria , take part in QA and UX, and sign off releases .

•

Keep stakeholders informed with concise, precise updates, and document decisions and their rationale to avoid relying on tribal knowledge.

•

Push back on scope creep constructively, without breaking relationships.

•

Measure the impact of what is delivered through product metrics (adoption, usage, satisfaction) and iterate accordingly.

What We Are Looking For

•

Proven experience ( 6+ years ) as a Product Owner or Product Manager, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role , within a B2B SaaS environment.

•

A demonstrated track record of end-to-end ownership in fast-paced agile environments.

•

Solid command of agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and hands-on use of Jira and agile ceremonies with no hand-holding.

•

Comfort with technical complexity (APIs, integrations, data flows), enough to engage with engineering as an equal.

•

Exceptional at writing clear requirements : stories, specs and acceptance criteria with no room for interpretation.

•

Surgical organisation : you track everything, nothing slips, and delivery always keeps moving.

•

Direct communication : able to say no, explain why, and keep the relationship intact.

•

Calm under pressure and good judgement with incomplete information.

•

An analytical, results-driven mindset, comfortable making data-based decisions .

Bonus

•

Experience in fintech, tax-tech or regulatory compliance products.

•

Knowledge of European VAT regulation and e-invoicing mandates.

•

Familiarity with API integrations and SaaS architectures.

•

Experience working with data/AI teams and with products built around country-specific regulatory obligations.

•

Fluent professional English (multilingual environment).

•

Product or agile certifications ( CSPO, PSPO ).
