Location: East Tamaki, Auckland
Hours: Minimum 40 hours per week with regular overtime available
Pay Rate: $40 to $45 per hour (depending on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our growing field service team based in East Tamaki. This is a hands-on role servicing and maintaining heavy mining, earthmoving, and quarry equipment.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in their workmanship, and values variety in their day-to-day work across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Field servicing, maintenance, and repair of heavy mining, earthmoving, and quarry equipment
- Diagnostics, fault-finding, and preventative maintenance
- Attending breakdowns and carrying out maintenance across multiple sites
- Working independently and as part of a skilled, supportive team
- Maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and professionalism
Requirements
- Trade-qualified Heavy Diesel Mechanic or equivalent industry experience
- Proven experience with heavy diesel machinery, field service, and diagnostics
- Experience with quarry, mining, or heavy industrial equipment preferred
- Full New Zealand driver’s licence (essential)
- Class 4 licence advantageous
- Ability to work independently and manage field-based workloads
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and customer-focused
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel as required
