What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)
- Diagnose & Repair: Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on a wide variety of fleet and commercial diesel vehicles (including light/medium-duty trucks, vans, and heavy-duty commercial vehicles).
- System Maintenance: Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, transmissions, electrical systems, steering, suspension, braking systems (including air brakes), and hydraulic systems.
- Routine Fleet Inspections: Conduct comprehensive preventative maintenance inspections (PMIs) and DOT safety inspections to ensure fleet compliance.
- Advanced Diagnostics: Utilize OEM and aftermarket diagnostic software to accurately identify mechanical and electronic faults.
- Documentation: Accurately document all diagnoses, repairs performed, and parts utilized on repair orders.
- Safety First: Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace while strictly adhering to all OSHA and dealership safety guidelines.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on experience working as a diesel/commercial vehicle technician.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent; a degree or certificate from an accredited diesel technician program is a major plus.
- Certifications: Current ASE Certifications (Medium/Heavy Truck T-Series) or OEM factory training preferred.
- Tools: Must possess a comprehensive set of personal hand tools and air tools appropriate for commercial vehicle repair.
- Licensing: Must have a valid driver's license and meet company motor vehicle report standards
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, stand for extended periods, and operate heavy machinery safely.
