Job description

To lead specialised performance, optimisation, and compliance functions within SAPS and ensure consistent, high-quality delivery across voyage performance, nautical operations, technical efficiency, environmental compliance, and data-driven insights. The role supports the global SAPS strategy by enhancing vessel efficiency, ensuring regulatory readiness, driving operational optimisation, enabling data-backed decision-making, and strengthening owner/charterer engagement. Each SAPS Manager is responsible for execution, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement of their vertical, ensuring SAPS delivers measurable value across Anglo-Eastern’s global fleet.

ROLES ACCOUNTABILITIES

  •  Lead day-to-day performance analysis and optimisation activities for assigned vessels ( Nautical, technical, or compliance), ensuring accuracy, timely insights, and actionable recommendations.
  •  Provide expert support to vessels, fleet teams, and owners, addressing performance issues, presenting optimisation solutions, and enabling proactive decision-making.
  •  Monitor planned and completed voyages, analysing speed profiles, consumption trends, weather routing, CII impact, and optimisation opportunities.
  •  Manage compliance processes (where relevant), ensuring accurate reporting (EU-ETS, MRV, DCS, FuelEU), system readiness, and alignment with regulatory requirements.
  •  Act as Key Account Manager for assigned owners/operators, conducting review meetings, presenting insights, and addressing performance concerns.
  •  Mentor, train, and supervise junior analysts/support staff, ensuring accuracy, quality, and continuous upskilling.

Technical skills Communication

External: Owners, charterers, commercial operators, class societies, technology vendors, emissions verifiers, regulatory agencies, and international industry bodies.

Internal: Fleet/Technical teams, Digital/IT, Data Analytics, HSQE, Compliance, Crewing, and all regional offices.

Professional skills

Specific Business Knowledge

  • Experience with digital tools, dashboards, analytics platforms, AIS, routing systems
  • Knowledge of IMO & EU regulations (CII, EEXI/EEDI, EU ETS, MRV, DCS, FuelEU) :
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills
  • Ability to drive optimisation, innovation, and new initiatives across SAPS

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Education

  • Nautical: B.Sc. Nautical Science, Master Mariner CoC
  • Technical: Class I COC (Engine) or equivalent technical certification
  • Compliance: Marine Engineer (Class I), Engineering Degree, or similar regulatory background

Experience

  • 3–5 years in Performance Centre / Marine/Technical operations
  • Seagoing experience as Chief Officer / Master / 2E / CE (depending on role)
  • Direct experience in nautical operations, voyage analysis, technical performance, or environmental compliance
