          * A flexible work schedule may be approved with up to two days remote work per week (if applicable).

Salary Range: Annually from $96,056 to $153,689*Salary placement is dependent on education and experience

THE POSITION AND THE DEPARTMENT

The Dean of Enrollment Services is a key member of the College and Student Affairs Division leadership teams. They bring a student-ready, equity-minded lens in advancing both enrollment and student success goals in support of the Normandale mission. In this role they provide leadership and administrative oversight for student affairs departments that include; Admissions, Advising, Counseling & Career Center, Financial Aid & Scholarships, New Student Programs, Records & Registration, Student Financial Services and Student Services.

The Dean of Enrollment Services contributes to the strategic vision for the division, strategic enrollment management planning and student communications. They serve on the college’s administrative council and various campus committees. The Dean of Enrollment Services works collaboratively with stakeholders across the campus, including academic affairs, IT and marketing. The position also provides leadership and an equity-minded and student-ready lens to the student appeals process and the development, evaluation and implementation of college policies and procedures in accordance with campus, Minnesota State, state, and federal regulations. This position serves as the student affairs representative in the absence of the Vice President of Student Affairs for college and Minnesota State meetings or events as needed.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

Essential:

  • Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel, Education or other directly related field               
  • At least five (5) years of experience in a postsecondary setting leading one or more units within a student affairs division such as: Admissions, Advising, Counseling Services, Career Services, Financial Aid, Orientation, Veteran Services, Registration and Records, Student Life, Student Wellness, Athletics, Student Health Services, Residential Life & Housing, and New Student Programs. 
  • At least two (2) years supervising staff and leading one or more departments or units in the student affairs division
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion, cultural competency and understanding of the diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty and staff.
  • Evidence of experience in the areas of leadership, organization, planning, development, staffing, budget management, evaluation and supervision reasonably related to the administrative assignment
  • Evidence of ability to deal with consistently demanding and high stress situations, emergency situations, and multiple and varied situations and issues simultaneously

Preferred:

  • Doctoral degree in Higher Education Administration, Student Personnel, Education or other directly related field
  • Five (5) or more years of experience supervising one or more areas within the division of student affairs portfolio
  • Experience working at a community college
  • An understanding of enrollment management, strategic planning and evidence of systematic decision making
  • Knowledge or experience with a “One Stop” centralized student services model
  • Active understanding of ADA laws, Carl Perkins Legislation, FERPA laws, Minnesota State policy and procedures, student records practices, student advising and counseling best practices.
