Job Description:
As a privately-owned, biopharmaceutical company, Ferring pioneers and delivers life-changing therapies that help people build families and live better lives. Our independence helps us cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit and long-term perspective that enables us to achieve growth and scale, while remaining agile and true to our ‘people first’ philosophy. Built on a 70-year plus commitment to science and research, Ferring is relentless in its pursuit of science that drives powerful discoveries and therapies to help people build families, stay healthy, and stand up to the world’s oldest enemy: disease.
The Associate Director, Business Analytics and Insights resides within the Analytics and Insights department and serves as the primary business partner for analytic needs and strategic planning support for the Specialty Care business unit (BU), with a particular focus on new product launch commercialization. The successful candidate will be instrumental in developing and executing commercial analytics strategies to support the launch of new products — requiring a deep understanding of market dynamics, advanced analytical capabilities, and the ability to work cross-functionally to ensure successful commercialization.
This role regularly communicates and interacts with BU Marketing and Sales leadership to understand brand strategy and sales objectives. The Associate Director partners with BU and peer analytics and insights stakeholders to generate understanding of market activity and trends, market access strategy, customer engagement, and marketing tactic impact. The role coordinates with commercial functions to provide key analytical and market insights and make strategic recommendations to support business growth in a competitive market.
With Ferring, you will be joining a recognized leader, identified as one of “The World’s Most Innovative Companies” by Fast Company, and honored by Fortune with inclusion on its “Change the World List,” for addressing society’s unmet needs. Ferring US is also Great Places to Work® Certified, distinguishing it as one of the best companies to work for in the country.
Responsibilities:
Stakeholder Engagement and Expectation Management
- Serve as the primary analytics partner to BU leadership, providing strategic thought partnership on brand strategy, launch planning, and market dynamics
- Actively participate in brand team meetings and cross-functional planning forums as a trusted, data-driven advisor
- Collaborate with R&D, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain to align commercial analytics with product launch plans and identify risks early
- Manage stakeholder expectations through regular communication on analytical priorities, timelines, and deliverables
Reporting and Data Analysis
- Build and maintain KPI frameworks for pre- and post-launch tracking; deliver accurate, timely reporting to BU and senior leadership
- Conduct proactive ad hoc and routine analyses to surface trends, inform commercial decisions, and refine launch strategies
- Gather and analyze customer feedback to continuously improve commercial strategies and drive product adoption
- Partner with the forecasting team to translate market uptake and revenue models into actionable commercial insights that inform launch strategy and business planning
Accountability and Establishment of Subject Matter Expertise
- Foster a culture of shared accountability and collaboration that strengthens partnerships with internal stakeholders
- Blend expertise across analytics, marketing, sales, and therapeutic area; coordinate with market research and market access to deliver integrated insights
- Leverage deep knowledge of field dynamics, market intelligence, and the competitive landscape to generate actionable recommendations
- Maintain an integrated view of business performance across Financial, Execution, and Access dimensions
- Continuously evaluate and improve ways of working across the analytics function, identifying opportunities to streamline processes, adopt emerging tools, and elevate the quality and speed of insight generation
Analytical Capabilities
- Provide clear visibility into factors affecting execution, patient access, and brand performance; conduct pull-through analytics for Market Access
- Partner with Forecasting to develop launch uptake and brand forecasting models that support planning and sales projections
- Leverage primary and secondary data and competitive intelligence to generate insights, support brand strategy, and measure marketing impact
- Apply knowledge of customer and competitor behavior, pricing dynamics, and market trends to inform both launch and ongoing brand decisions
- Champion the development of new analytical methodologies and frameworks that advance the team's capabilities, improve forecast accuracy, and set a higher standard for commercial insights delivery
Requirements:
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in business management, finance, statistics, or a related field. MBA / advanced degree preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in pharmaceutical commercial analytics, forecasting, or relevant experience in a consulting firm
- Demonstrated experience supporting new product launches in a pharmaceutical or biotech setting, including pre-launch analytics, KPI development, and commercial readiness assessment
- Proactively identifies analytical opportunities and surfaces insights ahead of stakeholder requests, anticipating business needs rather than reacting to them
- Demonstrates an innovative approach to analytics, continuously seeking new methodologies, data sources, and techniques to improve commercial insight quality
- Mastery of pharmaceutical data sources (Prescription, APLD, Non-retail, Hospital, Boutique/SP) and secondary market research (e.g., IQVIA, IPD)
- Proficiency in SQL and/or Python for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis; experience applying coding skills in a commercial analytics context preferred
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; proficient in Tableau or Power BI, MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint), and financial/forecasting modeling
- Highly developed communication skills; able to story-tell with data and influence executive and cross-functional stakeholders at all levels
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, lead through ambiguity, and deliver in fast-paced environments
- Demonstrated leadership, negotiation, and project management capabilities; detail oriented with strong business acumen
