Location & Schedule
This main locations are Roslyn (5440 Roslyn St., Denver, CO 80216) and Central Platte (1271 W. Bayaud Ave., Denver, CO 80223). However, you may be asked to work at any of the 7 shops. The shifts available are 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM or 2:30 PM - 11:00 PM. Both the shift timing and location will be determined and discussed during the hiring process. There is a 7% pay increase for the later shift.

Fleet Management looks after 2,500+ vehicles and equipment, aiming to keep 96% or more city vehicles available. The team oversees vehicle use, maintenance expenses, replacements, new vehicle purchases, heavy equipment, and fuel contracts for Denver's City and County vehicles.
The Fleet Management team has an opening for a Fleet Technician II. This is an excellent position for an experienced mechanic who enjoys working on a variety of vehicles. In this role, you will be assigned to a line in the fleet shop for the repair, inspection, and maintenance of light, medium, and/or heavy fleet vehicles and equipment and will use a variety of fuel technologies including gasoline, diesel, electric, CNG, and other alternative sources. Specifically, as a Fleet Technician II you will:
Inspect, diagnose, and disassemble systems, clean, remove, and replace worn or defective parts, reassemble, install, and adjust to specified performance standards
Tune gasoline, diesel, and alternative powered engines
Perform minor overhauls and assist in a training capacity on major overhauls on automatic, standard, and hydrostatic transmissions and internal combustion engines
Repair electronic and electrical systems
Repair mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Repair power take-off units and perform welding repair and fabrication of parts
Repair cooling, heating, air conditioning, and exhaust systems
Align front ends of equipment
Repair suspension and steering systems
Conduct emission checks and prepare new units for service
Respond to wrecker and service calls from field locations and perform preventive maintenance on equipment
Observe all common safety standards
Participate in snow removal duties as needed
We provide safety steel-toed boots and uniforms. We require that you bring your own tools to start. After one year of employment, you’ll receive a $1,000 tool allowance.
What You’ll Bring
Our ideal candidate has some or all the following experience, skills, and characteristics:
- A Commercial Driver’s License A or B
- ASE Airbrake Certification
- The ability to be flexible in hours
- The ability to work on weekends or overtime if needed
Required Minimum Qualifications
Education requirement: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
Experience Requirement: Two (2) years of experience in the diagnosis, repair and maintenance of gasoline or diesel-powered equipment.
Education/Experience Equivalency: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
License/Certifications:
Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application.
Requires a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL "B") with appropriate endorsements by the end of probation.
Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
Other Important Details
Applicants for commercial driving positions must demonstrate proficiency in the English language. Commercial drivers must be able to do the following in English:

Understand highway traffic signs and signals
Respond to official inquiries
Make entries on reports and records
