About the role
As a Food Market and Café Supervisor, this is your opportunity to lead the daily operations of the Food Market and Welcome Café, supporting the mission of Auburn Salvation Army while creating a welcoming, community-focused environment.
Reporting to the Program Coordinator, this is a permanent, part-time role offering 29 hours per week based in Auburn, NSW.
How you will make an impact
Oversee the daily operations of the Food Market and Café, ensuring smooth service delivery, cleanliness, and a positive customer experience.
Lead, recruit, train and support volunteers, fostering a safe, inclusive and collaborative team environment.
Manage stock control, ordering and merchandising, ensuring accurate pricing, clear labelling, and compliance with FIFO and food safety standards.
Coordinate café operations, including menu planning, food preparation, hygiene standards, and catering for events and community activities.
Maintain financial and administrative processes, including daily reconciliations, reporting, budget management and timely ordering.
Deliver high-quality customer service, resolve issues effectively, and provide regular updates and operational reporting to the Community Program Coordinator.
What you will bring
Strong organisational, administrative and people supervision skills, with experience working in diverse cultural settings
Background in retail/customer service with food preparation skills and a Food Safety Supervisor Certificate or willing to obtain.
A national police record check is required
A current and valid Working with Children Check
A current and valid Drivers Licence
