  • Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the first POC for Trade Compliance matters for Greater Asia region
  • Support embecta’s Trade Compliance GPO (Global Process Owner) in programmatic development and maintenance globally.
  • Manage regional compliance activities, including restricted party screening and anti-boycott reporting.
  • Facilitate employee training programs on trade compliance.
  • Support implementation of auditing & monitoring compliance programs.
  • Support Global Broker strategy and RFQ.
  • Manage regional customs brokerage partners, including KPI’s, Metrics, and quarterly business reviews.
  • High attention to detail to ensure accuracy in documentation and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Support forecasting and management of trade related cost and transactions.
  • Support implementation of the SAP modules and integrations required for best-in-class trade operations.
  • Determine HTS classification, Export Control Classification and Country of Origin.
  • Support in managing duty mitigation programs including Inward Processing, Intrastat and Free Trade Agreements
  • Consolidate and analyze import/export data to identify risks or opportunities for savings
  • Develop corrective action plans based on finding and follow actions through until complete.
  • Develop KPIs, monitor metrics and performs periodic performance reviews on Customs Brokers.
  • Perform project management related tasks to enable delivery of team assignments and objectives
  • Calculate and communicate monthly Customs cost savings reporting
  • Performs other analytical tasks as required
  • Education, required and/or preferred:
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred in business, supply chain, or related field.
  • Licenses or certifications Customs Broker certification or related training, preferred
  • Years of experience (range) in a particular field or discipline and at specified levels 6-9 years of experience in global trade compliance.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Demonstrable success in logistics and trade compliance in a regulated medical device, or pharmaceutical environment.
  • Experience in interpreting and applying international trade laws and regulations, with demonstrable experience in India and China.
  • Working knowledge of import/export law, HTS, Free Trade Agreements, country of origin, etc.
  • Experience of successful interaction with the regulatory authorities of India and China.
  • Experience working cross functionally with various departments such as legal, logistics, supply chain, and quality to ensure compliance.
  • Strong working knowledge and experience across the operational functions within supply chain with end-to-end focus.
  • Experience in managing internal and external partners to complete complex projects on time
  • Working knowledge of onboarding and managing customs brokers (including through KPIs and metrics monitoring).
  • Effective problem-solving skills to address and resolve issues related to customs and trade compliance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (Power Point) – ability to work across all functions and levels in the organization and regions; effectively manage and work with a virtual team; ability to influence without direct control.
  • Possession of a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Familiarity with trade management software, automation tools, and data analytics platforms to enhance compliance monitoring
