Overview

We are looking for a skilled and empathetic full-time Therapist Intern that wants to make a difference and be part of an amazing and growing team located in White Haven, Pennsylvania , along the Lehigh River near the Pocono Mountains. Our serene and private environment nestled within the rolling woodlands and meadows of the foothills provides an ideal setting for reflection and growth. 77 beautiful acres within the Pocono Mountains create a natural, tranquil, peaceful and healing setting.

Join us at Embark at our short term residential facility at White Haven, Pennsylvania where therapists offer guidance and support to adolescents and their families that include multi-modal family system approaches to amplify and solidify change.

At Embark Behavioral Health, the therapist intern will be working under the supervision of a licensed Clinical Director and advocating for client and family care through strong assessments and treatment planning, ongoing progress monitoring with detailed case management, community based support and robust aftercare planning.

The Therapist Intern will receive sufficient training pertaining to treatment modalities and the Embark Treatment Approach.

Responsibilities

  • Managing a caseload under the supervision of the Clinical Director
  • Provide individual, family and group therapy
  • Parent coaching
  • Case management and team management
  • Crisis management / de-escalation
  • Treatment planning
  • Utilize assessment tools
  • Utilization review
  • Documentation in our electronic medical record

Qualifications

  • Current enrollment in a Master's Program in Behavioral Sciences - Social Work (MSW,) Clinical Social Work (CSW,) Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or a related discipline.
  • A desire to facilitate client growth through a team approach, working with other care providers.
  • A desire to perform and develop counseling/therapeutic expertise in individual, family, and group therapy.
  • Preferred - One year of experience in a residential setting.
  • Ability to plan, implement, and adjust a course of treatment as required.
  • Ability to pass a state background check
