Who we are

Offshore Services Australasia (OSA) is the leading supplier of helicopters services to the Australian Offshore industry. We operate multiple helicopter types from several bases throughout Australia providing support to several major oil and gas producers.

About the role

We have an opportunity for a motivated and dynamic Operations Officer to join our Offshore Operations team in a full-time touring position.

As an Operations Officer you will work as part of a local team to support the safe, efficient, and effective day-to-day running of base operations. This position operates on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off roster (15 days on / 13 days off).

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a safety champion, promoting safe behaviours and proactively addressing unsafe practices.
  • Ensure completion and coordination of the daily flying program.
  • Maintain operational readiness by ensuring flight planning rooms and base facilities are equipped with required equipment, publications, displays and information for Aircrew, Engineers, and Operations staff.
  • Prepare and submit daily operational reports and compile contract statistics (daily and weekly).
  • Collaborate with other OSA Departments to support the efficient running of base operations.
  • Liaise closely with clients to maximise flight scheduling while maintaining safe and efficient operations.
  • Ensure base radio facilities are serviceable prior to daily operations.
  • Complete all required operational documentation and reporting accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate Search and Rescue (SAR) and medevac responses in line with Company procedures with reference to local procedures and the ERP Manual.
  • Comply with all Company policies, including health, safety, environmental, security, and equal opportunity standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement by developing both individual and team capabilities.

Qualifications, Skills & Attributes

  • Ability to obtain (or currently hold) an Australian Security Identification Card (ASIC).
  • Possession of an Aeronautical Radio Operator Certificate (AROC).
  • Dangerous Goods Awareness certification highly desirable.
  • Current Australian Drivers Licence.
  • Proficiency in Offshore Aviation Emergency Response procedures.
  • Experience with Flight Following procedures.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential.
  • Aviation and Offshore Operations experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience in ground handling and check-in processes is advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills with high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively within a team.
  • Positive, flexible, and adaptable approach to work.
  • Excellent customer service and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and decision-making abilities.
  • Comfortable working in a remote and cross-cultural environment, including managing challenging situations.
