About the Role
Job Title: Optical Assistant Company: Silverthornes Opticians Location: Salisbury, Wiltshire
Salary: Dependent on Experience (DOE) Job Type: Permanent Part-time, 3 days a week

As we grow, we're looking to welcome an enthusiastic Optical Assistant to our friendly team.
About the Role: As our Optical Assistant, you’ll be the welcoming face of the practice – the first person patients see or speak to when they get in touch. You’ll play a key role in delivering a smooth and caring patient experience.Ideally, you have some experience working in Optics.
Key Responsibilities
•
Greeting patients and visitors with a warm, professional manner
•
Booking and managing appointments via our digital system
•
Answering phone and email enquiries efficiently
•
Taking payments and handling till operations
•
Keeping reception tidy, stocked, and patient-friendly
•
Updating and maintaining patient records
•
Pre-screening patients, dispensing
•
Assisting with frame selection, repairing and adjustment of frames

What We’re Looking For
•
This role is ideal for someone with previous experience working in optics
•
Excellent communication and people skills
•
Confidence using basic computer systems
•
Organised, dependable, and detail-oriented
•
Friendly, calm, and professional under pressure
Working Hours: 3 days a week, including some Saturdays
