Job Summary and Responsibilities
As an ED Tech, you will provide crucial support and direct patient care in the fast-paced Emergency Department, ensuring efficient operations and compassionate assistance during critical moments.Every day you will expertly assist with patient admissions and discharges, perform vital signs and basic medical procedures, maintain a clean and organized environment, and meticulously document observations to support the nursing staff and physician team.To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding adaptability, strong communication skills, and a calm, proactive demeanor, contributing significantly to timely patient care and a smooth-running ED.
- ASSESSMENT/PLANNING
- Takes vital signs, height and weight. Records on appropriate charting form
- Reports observations regarding patient's status to the registered nurse. Identifies and responds to urgent/emergent situations.
- Assists in patient admission, transfer or discharge
- Moves, lifts, ambulates and transports patients safely.
- Assists physicians and nursing staff with assigned procedures
Job Requirements
Required
- Current CNA, EMT, or valid ParamedicLicense., upon hire and
- Certified Nursing Assistant: CA, upon hire
- Emergency Medical Technician: CA, upon hire
- Orthopaedic Technologist Certified, upon hire
- Orthopedic Technologist Registered, upon hire
- Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
Preferred
- Acute Care experience preferred., upon hire
