Job Description

As a Security Officer Armed Field Patrol in Portsmouth, VA , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Healthcare, and more. What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, and staff by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities within a healthcare location.
• Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including assisting with de-escalation and notifying the appropriate personnel when needed.
• Conduct regular and random armed patrols throughout buildings, parking areas, and perimeter locations to help to deter unwanted activity and/or identify unusual conditions.
• Monitor entrances, exits, and restricted areas while verifying access permissions and documenting security-related concerns, observations, and/or incident details.
• Support hospital operations by assisting with security-related requests, following post orders, and coordinating with site contacts and/or first responders during urgent events.

Minimum Requirements

• Possess an Armed Guard Card and/or license as required.
• Provide proof of a high school diploma or GED as required by the client.
• CPR certification is preferred.
• Be at least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
