Overview
Business Financial Analyst (VOPS-2026-25563)
Bowhead is seeking Business Financial Analyst with demonstrated experience in the following areas: financial reporting, budgeting, requisitioning, forecasting, and utilization of financial software (ERP preferred).
The Financial Analyst is responsible for managing financial data, tracking budget allocations, and ensuring accurate financial documentation within the organization. The role involves updating Line of Accounting (LOA) records, analyzing burn rates, reconciling financial documents, and supporting the budgeting and planning process for current fiscal year.
This position is 100% on-site.

- Regularly maintain and update the funding tracker located on the shared drive.
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of funding document information in both ERP and IBPES.
- Track execution weekly in both ERP and IBPES.
- Complete analysis of plans to ensure all Direct Cite funds are sent to the correct contractor as required.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of burn rates associated with various charge codes.
- Identify and restrict charge codes that have reached their allocation.
- Ensure compliance with budgetary constraints and reallocate funds as necessary.
- Clear negative NWA balances based on IBPES data and allocated funding.
- Adjust funding allocations according to the approved budget plan that is provided from the Statement of Work (SOW) or Task Planning Sheet (TPS).
- Run smart graphs for each SOW/TPS for monthly sponsor meetings, along with internal review graphs to track progress with execution.
- Communicate with the line on execution, allocation changes, and any other problems or concerns.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Two plus (2+) years of experience in financial reporting, budgeting, requisitioning, forecasting, and utilization of financial software (ERP preferred).
- Must have working understanding of TPS documentation and IBPES
- Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, Power-Point
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently have a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
