Full-Time | $19.31 /Hr | Extensive Benefits Schedule: Sunday–Thursday

Your role will be to

  • Foster a safe, respectful, and welcoming living environment
  • Support residents with day-to-day needs and program expectations
  • Monitor facility operations and resident activities
  • Respond to concerns, emergencies, and resident inquiries as needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation and records.
  • Work collaboratively with staff to promote resident well-being and program success.

Through our supervised transitional housing program, we help individuals experiencing homelessness build life skills, access resources, and achieve personal goals. Our dedicated staff work to provide stability, guidance, and immediate support, empowering youth and young adults to overcome challenges and create a successful path toward self-sufficiency.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate daily activities that promote resident engagement, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.
  • Support youth development programs, group activities, and community awareness initiatives.
  • Complete documentation, clerical tasks, intake procedures, and provide crisis intervention and supportive counseling as needed.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, housekeeping, resident supervision, and bedtime routines.
  • Monitor resident safety through regular bed checks and building security procedures.
  • Attend staff meetings, complete required training, and provide support to other programs as needed.
  • Demonstrate cultural competence and contribute to the goals and mission of The Salvation Army Syracuse Area Services.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • More than one year of experience working with adolescents or young adults.
  • Valid driver’s license that meets The Salvation Army insurance requirements.
  • Access to a vehicle during working hours.
  • Ability to achieve and maintain CPR Certification
  • Ability to diffuse crisis situations both within team settings and independently.
  • Ability to document program events and carry out scheduled or spontaneous tasks
  • PC Skills, Outlook, Word, Internet navigation.
