Software Engineer II - Full Stack

Your job

Write software to fulfill both well-specified, small-scoped work requests and larger, less well-defined work requests for your team's product(s). Collaborate with Product Managers and other stakeholders to clarify technical requirements, break down large projects into smaller tasks that can be executed in sequence or in parallel, and refine Product and Engineering goals to ensure alignment with company objectives. Design new systems and enhancements to existing systems to support substantial new features and products. Write software to fix complex bugs, triage newly reported bugs by estimating scope and priority of each bug, investigate problems, and recommend fixes for your team’s products. Provide technical feedback on code changes, design enhancements, and engineering processes within the team and across the Engineering and Product organizations. Document software designs, development processes, and work items for knowledge-sharing and product maintenance. Mentor junior engineers by sharing technical expertise and best practices and assisting in task prioritization based on urgency, business impact, and overall team objectives. Interview candidates for various positions in the Engineering organization, and participate in group discussions on candidates’ fitness for those positions.

Position is in Foster City, California. Up to 100% Telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. is permitted.

Who you are

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or a closely related computer technical field;
• Two years of professional experience working in software programming, using at least one of the following programming languages: Kotlin, Java, Scala, C, C++, C#, Python, or Go;
• Two years of experience building web applications or services;
• Two years of experience using 3-Tier Architecture with a focus on services and data stores; and
• One year of experience developing software for distributed computing and distributed systems.

Experience may be gained concurrently.
