Your job
Integrate data from a variety of internal and external sources in order to support data and analytics activities across Indeed’s global business functions, providing insight into the global job market and supporting product innovation. Lead or participate in the design and implementation of data pipelines, data models, data transformations, and tooling for a cloud-based, distributed data processing and data management system. Develop code-based data pipelines capable of handling millions of events per day. Analyze and resolve system performance issues through query tuning, data model revision, or other methods. Design and implement automated testing to enforce data quality standards. Lead or contribute to continuous improvement in development standards and processes. Collaborate with engineering and product leadership, partner teams, vendors and others to define project scope, evaluate technologies, or otherwise provide technical direction.
Position is in Austin, Texas. Up to 100% telecommuting from anywhere in the U.S. is permitted.
Who you are
Primary Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent technical field;
- Five years of professional work experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or similar role;
- Five years of experience in coding, using at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Java, or similar;
- Three years of experience using big data technologies, such as Snowflake, Hive, Redshift, Kafka, or similar;
- Expert-level understanding of data pipeline fundamentals and performance tuning; and
- Expert-level understanding of data modeling fundamentals for analytical solutions.
Experience may be gained concurrently.
Alternate Minimum Requirements
- Master’s or foreign equivalent degree in Math, Statistics, Computer Science, or equivalent technical field;
- Four years of work experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or similar role;
- Four years of experience in coding, using at least one of the following programming languages: Python, Java, or similar;
- Three years of experience using big data technologies, such as Snowflake, Hive, Redshift, Kafka, or similar;
- Expert-level understanding of data pipeline fundamentals and performance tuning; and
- Expert-level understanding of data modeling fundamentals for analytical solutions.
- Experience may be gained concurrently.
Any suitable combination of education, training, or experience is acceptable.

Salary Range Transparency
Salary Range: $130,250 to $166,000 per year
