Job description
Role Overview
The Team Leader assists the supervisor with daily manpower planning, scheduling, and meeting production requirements. This position also accurately maintains inventory, opens and closes return authorizations sessions and coordinates the unloading of truck deliveries.
Duties & Responsibilities
Production
•
- Working with the Supervisor, schedule staff to ensure production requirements are met.
- Advise the Supervisor of any performance issues with employees or temporary employees.
- Receive incoming transfers from the warehouse; process outgoing transfers back to the warehouse.
- Ensure the equipment is in working order, and the operators have the required tools and other resources.
- Maintain daily records on quantities, staff hours, and inspection results, as well as collecting data for reporting purposes in a PC-based system.
- Ensure that work areas are kept clean and organized at all times.
- Secure all company assets in the assigned production area
Quality
•
- Ensure that quality workmanship is used in the repair, refurbishment, and modification of Brother products.
- Ensure that proper procedures are in place before beginning to work on any product.
- Confirm that damaged equipment is removed from the operations and reported through the work order process.
Training
•
- Train employees, both new and temporary.
- Provide necessary retraining of already trained regular and temporary employees.
Leadership Support
•
- Know, understand, and support Brother's Strategic Culture Drivers.
- Place employees in the optimal position on the production line for efficiency and accuracy.
- Lead Team Members in the area using MDI and driving adherence to standard work.
- Ensure safety of employees and adherence to EHS requirements.
- Ensures all transactions and logs are executed correctly and in a timely manner.
- Ability to influence, coach, and lead others both directly and indirectly.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate waste and reduce costs.
- Consistently promote high standards through personal example.
- Provide feedback to the Management team to share ideas and improve operations, recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous improvement activities to optimize results and improve quality.
- Exercise considerable initiative/judgement in work methods and delegating work requirements/goals.
Experience & Qualifications
Education
•
- High School Diploma (or G.E.D.)
Experience
•
- Minimum 5 years:
- Working as a skilled production employee in a fast-paced production or manufacturing facility
- Minimum 2 years:
- Leading a team of hourly workers in a production or manufacturing facility
Software/Technical Skills
•
- MS Office
- SAP Inventory Module
Other Skills/Knowledge/Abilities
•
- Ability to identify and suggest quality improvement opportunities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to coordinate the work of team members without direct management authority.
- Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure and with minimal supervision.
Additional Details for This Role
This role will be an onsite role. You are expected to work from the stated job location 5 days a week. #LI-Onsite
Base Salary
•
- The targeted base range for this position is $ 21.60- $ 24.00 per hour.
- Base salary is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the successful candidate, as well as factors such as internal equity, cost of labor in the hiring location, and alignment with market data.
- The base salary accounts for the entirety of the on-target earnings for this role. No additional incentives or variable pay are applicable.
