Overview
This is a full-time career opportunity that can be hybrid within the Fulton Bank footprint as follows: DC, DE, MD, NJ, PA, VA .
This role will support our Commercial Real Estate teams within the Fulton Bank footprint as follows: PA, NJ, MD, DE, VA, DC.
This role serves as a player/coach, leading a team of commercial portfolio managers while maintaining responsibility for an individual commercial loan portfolio. This role balances hands-on portfolio management with people leadership to ensure strong credit quality, risk discipline, and support of relationship management and growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of commercial portfolio managers; set priorities, review work quality, and provide ongoing performance feedback. Provide training and mentoring as needed for less experienced team members.
- Review and approve portfolio actions to ensure compliance with credit policy, risk appetite, and regulatory requirements. May include lending authority for annual review approvals.
- Manage an assigned commercial loan portfolio, including financial analysis, risk rating accuracy, covenant monitoring, renewals, and credit quality oversight.
- Partner closely with Commercial Relationship Managers, Credit, and Risk functions on underwriting, structuring, renewals, and problem credit resolution. Attend client meetings as needed.
- Partner with Special Assets and Strategic Asset Management on problem loan identification and portfolio management as needed.
- Provide oversight to ensure quality of Asset Quality Review and Watchlist forms.
- Monitor portfolio trends, industry concentrations, and emerging risks; escalate concerns and recommend risk mitigation strategies.
- Support portfolio strategy, workflow efficiency, and process improvement initiatives.
- Ensure accurate documentation, timely reviews, and adherence to internal controls and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree or the equivalent experience. Specialty: Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field. (Required)
Experience
8 or more years commercial banking, commercial credit, portfolio management, or the equivalent. (Required)
5 or more years of Commercial Real Estate Credit and underwriting experience. (Required)
3 or more years management / leadership experience. (Preferred)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Demonstrated experience managing a commercial loan portfolio with sound credit judgment. (Required)
- Strong knowledge of commercial credit analysis, financial statements, cash flow analysis, and risk management principles. (Required)
- Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills. (Required)

We set standard salary ranges for our roles based on the position, function, and responsibilities, as benchmarked against similarly sized companies in our industry. Specific compensation offered will be determined based on a combination of factors including the candidate’s knowledge, skills, depth of work experience, and relevant licenses/credentials. The salary range may vary based on geographic location.
The salary range for this position is $114,100.00 - $190,100.00 annually.
Additional Compensation Components
This job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units. This job is eligible to participate in a short-term incentive compensation plan subject to individual and company performance.
