Responsibilities

The Department of Internal Medicine at the Frederick P. Whiddon College of Medicine at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama is looking for a full-time board eligible/board certified Pulmonary/Critical Care provider to join the division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level. Responsibilities will include teaching students, house staff and fellows, patient care, performance of pulmonary related procedures, and basic and/or clinical research. The chosen candidate will join our division compromised of 8academic faculty members and 9 pulmonary fellows. Faculty share weekend call and are assigned to clinical services based on activities such as research time, formal teaching at the Whiddon COM undergraduate level, clinical educator role, etc.

  • Successful completion/in process of completing an ACGME accredited Pulmonary/Critical Care/Sleep Fellowship program
  • Board certified in Internal Medicine and BE/BC in both Pulmonary Disease & Critical Care Medicine
  • Ability to obtain medical license/DEA for the state of Alabama
