Overview

The Founding Dean of Touro University's School of Business is the academic, administrative, fiscal and visionary leader who will work collaboratively with the undergraduate and graduate deans, department chairs, faculty, and administration to design and implement the program(s) and curriculum of the new School of Business. This new School will offer undergraduate and graduate programs designed to prepare students for dynamic careers across the full spectrum of business sectors—including health care administration, marketing, accounting, entrepreneurship, real estate, informatics and data analytics, and each will include the rapidly evolving landscape of artificial intelligence. The Dean will shape a future focused academic enterprise that equips students with the knowledge, skills, and adaptability required to thrive in a complex, technology driven global economy. The Dean is responsible for overseeing the recruitment of qualified faculty, and for leading the process of obtaining and maintaining all appropriate program accreditations, approvals and certifications. The Dean will also oversee student recruitment, develop goals and objectives for the School, develop and implement a new Strategic Plan, and oversee an annual assessment plan. The dean will work collaboratively with the deans of other Touro University schools and respective undergraduate chairs, in the development and advancement of joint programs and institutional priorities. The Dean assists in developing financial support for the school and performs all other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the senior leadership of Touro University.

Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Vision

  • Develop and articulate a bold vision for the School of Business that prepares students for high demand careers across traditional and emerging business fields
  • Work with industry leaders so as to enhance opportunities for student internships and future Student Success
  • Lead strategic planning that integrates industry trends, technological innovation, and workforce needs—particularly in areas such as health care business operations, digital marketing, financial and managerial accounting, entrepreneurial ventures, real estate markets, data driven decision making, and AI enabled business solutions
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive culture that encourages interdisciplinary learning and innovation

Academic Excellence and Accreditation

  • Ensure academic programs are rigorous, relevant, and aligned with employer expectations across multiple business sectors
  • Oversee accreditation processes and continuous improvement efforts that support excellence in teaching, scholarship, and applied learning
  • Ensures student success
  • Champion faculty research and curricular innovation in fields such as analytics, entrepreneurship, accounting, marketing, and technology enhanced business practices
  • Provide oversight for the Touroundergraduate and graduate business programs abroad, ( eg Touro Berlin, Touro Israel, etc, )
  • Collaborates with the deans of other schools and undergraduate chairs, and programs across Touro University to develop and implement strategic pathways and partnerships
  • May teach in the business school

Operational and Financial Management

  • Provide strategic oversight of budgeting, resource allocation, and operational planning to support program growth and long term sustainability
  • Use data informed decision making to guide program development, faculty hiring, and investment in emerging areas such as AI and informatics

Enrollment Management and Student Success

  • Lead recruitment strategies that attract high achieving students interested in careers across the business ecosystem—from health care management to entrepreneurship to real estate development
  • Strengthen pathways to internships, experiential learning, and career placement in partnership with employers across industries
  • Support initiatives that enhance student engagement, retention, and professional readiness

External Relations and Advancement

  • Serve as the School's primary ambassador to internal and external stakeholders, including business leaders, alumni, donors, and community partners
  • Build strong relationships with industry sectors that rely on business talent—health systems, financial firms, marketing agencies, tech companies, real estate organizations, and entrepreneurial networks
  • Engage in fundraising to support scholarships, program innovation, and strategic initiatives that expand student opportunities

Qualifications

Education/Experience

  • An earned doctorate in a business related discipline or a closely aligned field.
  • A record of scholarly achievement that merits appointment at the rank of full professor.
  • Demonstrated success in academic leadership, including experience with accreditation, budgeting, assessment, and strategic planning.
  • A collaborative leadership style with a commitment to shared governance, transparency, and inclusive excellence.
  • Experience in student recruitment, enrollment strategy, and program development.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to represent the School effectively to internal and external constituents
  • A track record of successful fundraising or external partnership development is strongly preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Thorough knowledge of graduate-level business education.
  • Knowledge and experience in academic planning and implementation of graduate, online courses and degree programs.
  • Outstanding communication skills and a demonstrated ability to work with multiple constituencies reflecting the diverse demography of New York City.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Must be able to work simultaneously on several high-priority tasks in a multi-tasking environment.
  • Budget preparation and implementation.
  • Developing and implementing goals, managing resources, strategic planning and interdisciplinary scholarly skills.

Travel

  • Travel to appropriate professional and work-related meetings in-state and out-of-state

Maximum Salary

USD $400,000.00/Yr.

Minimum Salary

USD $320,000.00/Yr.
