We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Summer Students to support our Finance, Human Resources (HR), Procurement, etc. This role provides hands-on experience across multiple business functions, with a strong focus on data analysis, reporting, and process support.
The ideal candidate is highly proficient in Excel, enjoys working with data, and has strong communication skills.
Main Accountabilities
- Assist with financial data entry, validation, and maintenance of records
- Perform basic data analysis (trend analysis, variance checks, etc.) [myjobmag.com]
- Update and maintain databases
- Help with reporting and analysis related to workforce data
- Maintain procurement records, vendor data, and purchase orders
- Clean, analyze, and validate large datasets using Excel
- Create reports, pivot tables, and dashboards to support decision-making
- Assist with process improvement initiatives and workflow efficiencies
- Provide administrative support across teams as needed
Main Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in Business, Finance, HR, Supply Chain, or related field
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication skills
- High attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills
Compensation
The expected salary range for this position is CAD $30 per hour, aligned with Baffinland’s approved compensation framework and current market conditions.
Salary ranges are provided as guidelines. Final compensation will be determined based on:• Relevant education and certifications• Related training and experience
