At the heart of everything we do is our belief that we bring the energy - the energy for change, connection, and growth. It shapes how we collaborate, innovate, and create impact together. If you are looking for a role where your contribution is visible, your development matters, and your work supports a more sustainable future, Scatec may be the right place for you.

Why this role matters

This is a newly established role, created to give Scatec dedicated regional communications and government relations capability in Romania. As the first hire in this function locally, you will have the unique opportunity to build Scatec's voice in the Romanian market from the ground up, establishing relationships, shaping narratives, and supporting the company's growth ambitions across Romania and neighboring CEE markets including Poland and Czech Republic.

You will work closely with senior management, regional development teams, and Scatec's central external affairs and communications function to ensure consistent, credible, and impactful engagement across all stakeholder groups.

What you’ll be doing

  • Manage external communications including media relations, corporate messaging, and stakeholder communications
  • Drive marketing and branding activities to enhance Scatec's visibility and positioning in the Romanian and regional renewable energy sector
  • Ensure consistent application of Scatec's brand guidelines and communication standards across all regional activities
  • Build and maintain relationships with government authorities, TSO, regulatory bodies, industry associations, embassies, and key external stakeholders
  • Monitor regulatory and political developments relevant to the energy sector and support advocacy efforts aligned with Scatec's business priorities
  • Support senior management with briefing materials, presentations, and strategic communications related to public affairs and market activities
  • Lead internal communications initiatives to strengthen employee engagement, alignment, and company culture across regional teams
  • Support cross-functional teams with communication guidance, ensuring clarity and consistency in internal messagin
  • Plan and coordinate regional events, conferences, stakeholder meetings, site visits, and industry engagements
  • Represent Scatec at relevant industry forums and public events, strengthening brand awareness and professional networks

Your work will support real decisions, real assets, and real operational outcomes.

What you’ll gain

  • Professional growth through ownership, exposure, and meaningful contribution from day one
  • Hands-on experience in a role where the challenge is energizing, fast-moving, meaningful, and built on learning through doing.
  • Exposure to complex stakeholder environments, including communities, contractors, organized labor, local authorities, and industry bodies.
  • The opportunity to develop specialized expertise in industrial relations, community engagement, and social risk management within large-scale renewable energy projects.

What you’ll bring

  • 5+ years of experience in communications, public affairs, government relations, or a related field
  • Proven track record in media relations and stakeholder engagement, ideally within the energy, infrastructure, or related sectors
  • Experience working within or alongside international organisations; familiarity with CEE regional dynamics is a strong advantage
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver communications strategies in complex, multi-stakeholder environments
  • Fluent in Romanian (native) and English, both written and verbal; additional European language skills are a plus
  • Politically aware and commercially minded, with a good understanding of the Romanian regulatory and media landscape
  • Strong writing, storytelling, and presentation skills across multiple formats and audiences
  • Organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple workstreams independently in a dynamic environment
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively across cultures and organizational levels
  • Digitally savvy and curious to use new tools
