Job Overview

Overview

Responsible for monitoring the case freezer operation and dealing with any abnormalities such as product jams. This will require the operator entering the freezer to correct the problems and continue to operate and monitor flow.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions

Operate Intec Freezer

• Visually monitor from a control station the flow of product into freezer
• Clear jams by entering the freezer and correcting problems following company safety rules and any GMP policies
• Control product flow in Freezer
• Control process speed to ensure the finished product meets all temperature requirements
• Assure that Case/Intec freezer inventory is correct and sample are under control

Monitor product quality

• Visually inspect and remove all defective packages prior to palletizing
• Remove defective boxes and notify QA and production supervisor
• Monitor temperatures in the case freezer
• Monitor all case data and label information

Responsibilities

• Keep work area clean and free of clutter and debris
• Follow shift rotations
• Follow all food safety (GMP) and general safety guidelines
• Complete other tasks as assigned
• Follow all safety requirements for that area

Qualifications

Qualifications

• Have basic computer skills
• Ability to apply understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
• Basic problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand, speak and read English; preferred
• Have basic math skills
• Understanding of inventory control and system data feed
• Ability to direct product flow, self directed, and organized need paperwork

Physcial Requirements

• Lift and push up 60 pounds frequently
• Climbing ladders and crawling under conveyors in a cold environment
• Stand and work in a cold environment; occasionally in a -30 to -40 degree F area as needed
• Work quickly to keep up with the flow of production
• Follow GMP policies and wear necessary PPE
