We are looking for a Lairage Operative to join our existing team at Llanybydder. The role involves the safe humans and efficient handling of livestock within the lairage area prior to processing, maintaining high standards of animal welfare, hygiene and health and safety.

Day Shift; and Back-Shift (1300-2200) roles available

Responsibilities

Your Main Duties will include

We would love to hear from individuals who are hardworking and enthusiastic.Your duties will include:

  • Receiving and unloading livestock on arrival at the site in accordance with welfare regulations
  • Ensure livestock numbers are correct
  • Ensuring all appropriate paperwork is completed
  • Monitoring livestock for animal welfare issues and taking action if required
  • Segregating animals as required
  • Moving animals between pens using safe handling techniques
  • Maintaining accurate identification and traceability
  • Adhering to departmental SOPs and maintaining high standards
  • Contributing to the team’s goals and department targets
  • Ensuring customer and company specifications are met
  • Promotes and maintains excellent health, safety and hygiene standards
