Title of Position: Material Handler
Position Type: Full-Time
Location: Romulus, MI
Founded in 2016, Tube Supply provides quality steel tube and bar in alloy, stainless, and carbon for oil and gas applications, including drilling, completions, production, and downhole tools. Our steel tubular and bar products are tailored specifically to meet the demands of the oil and gas industry, including high pressure, high temperature (HPHT) and sour (H2S) well environments. Responsibilities
- Locate steel wire and rod coils for shipment based on production schedules and shipping requirements.
- Package steel coils using steel strapping or nylon strapping in accordance with customer specifications and internal procedures
- Secure coils to prevent damage during handling, storage, and transportation
- Stage finished product in designated areas for shipment
- Pull orders from inventory and deliver materials and supplies to production areas as needed
- Maintain in-process inventory at work centers by delivering and opening materials and supplies
- Identify, label, and record inventory locations accurately
- Report inventory shortages, discrepancies, or damaged material to management
- Safely operate forklifts (Hi-Lo) to move materials, coils, and supplies
- Contribute to the orderly operation of stock and material storage areas
- Adhere to all workplace safety rules, PPE requirements, and safe-work practices
Qualifications
- Experienced Material Handler using forklift and/or overhead crane
- Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to safely operate an industrial forklift
- Physical ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 pounds
- Willingness to work overtime as needed
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Experience in steel manufacturing or material handling
- Previous experience packaging steel wire or rod coils a plus
