Assistant Nurse Manager - Cardiac Inpatient Services

Overview

Hours vary, evening/night shift coverage (could include some weekends)

Ability to take weekend call every 4-8 weeks

The assistant nurse manager will assure that clinical outcomes are met, patient safety and quality of care are maintained, and resources are utilized appropriately. This position will work closely with other nursing leaders to promote patient safety, staff safety, recommend new equipment, and evaluate the need for change. The assistant nurse manager will be expected to participate in special projects as designated. The position will assist to oversee daily operations, provide problem solving, and assure guidelines are followed.

Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills are required along with the ability to prioritize and respond to stressful situations with accuracy and speed. Must be highly proficient in clinical skills, possess effective critical thinking skills, and be able to lead and adapt quickly to change. Positoin will mentor others, facilitate patient and staff satisfaction, and maintain evidence-based competency levels for required populations. Must be able to identify appropriate staffing, supply maintenance, and equipment needs and adjust as necessary to meet budgetary guidelines.

Current NC RN license or multi-state licensure privilege through the Nurse Licensure Compact required

3 years of previous charge nurse, educator, or leadership experience required

Minimum of 5 years nursing experience in critical care
