Job description

Overview / Responsibilities

Wood has an opportunity for a Project Supply Chain Manager (contract) to join the team and oversee procurement and subcontracts activities within project task forces, and the co - ordination of those activities with those of other departments and / or task force groups.

This role is primarily based in Reading and will suit an experienced Supply Chain Manager.

Workscope

  • Responsible for duties delegated by the Head of Supply Chain and those delegated by the designated Project Manager
  • Supervise specific project activities assigned to supporting personnel working within the Supply Chain Department who are not specifically located to the task force
  • Monitor and report progress of procurement and subcontracts activities on the project
  • Ensuring project is within personnel hour and cost budgets

Qualifications

  • Experience working within the Petrochemical and / or Onshore Oil & Gas industry
  • Ideally degree qualified
  • Must have experience of working on EPCm projects
  • Ability to compile project procurement execution strategies
  • Prior experience with direct roles in one or more of purchasing, inspection, expediting, shipping, material control and construction contracts
  • Proven track record demonstrating that you have interfaced and presented to the senior levels of your organisation within or outside the Supply Chain / Procurement Department and to international clients
  • Sensitivity to cultural differences in your teams and with Clients
  • Ability to interface with clients, customers and suppliers at management and director level, whilst retaining the ability to address, motivate and guide your people at the working level
  • Ability to lead negotiations with suppliers and contractors
  • Demonstrated positive 'can do' attitude and be able to analyse problems and present viable and workable solutions
