Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for a Study Manager with extensive experience in the Oil & Gas, Petrochemical or similar sector of the industry to provide support to our Client in the execution of projects
Job Objective
- Responsible for Project Management pf Pre-Feasibility and Feasibility Studies
- Assist in proposal preparation for multi-disciplinary teams
- Responsible for schedule and cost control on studies
- Main interface with client on a technical and project management basis
- Responsible for quality of study deliverables
- Ability to work under pressure and achieve tight deadlines
- Promote multi-disciplinary teamwork.
- To actively pursue excellent Health, Safety and Environmental performance standards and to encourage all staff to achieve or out-perform the indicated HSE KPI’s.
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
- Manage the assigned study team to ensure that studies are completed to the required technical standard.
- Manage the assigned study team to ensure that the study is completed on time and within budget.
- Undertake site visits to the project location and areas for project sourcing.
- Identify local and foreign suppliers and vendors.
- Identify applicable local laws and rules.
- Co-ordinates the generation of specifications for enquiries to support the cost estimate.
- Co-ordinates the compilation of bills of quantities and the issue of tender documents to prospective suppliers.
- Responsible for study report deliverable structure and content.
- Liaison and communication with the client, as required.
- Appoint consultants in areas where specific expertise is required.
- Responsible for design safety in the study.
- Co-ordinate’s compilation of management cost estimate review and presentation to the client.
- Assist in business development activities, as required.
- In periods of low work fall back to a Project Engineer and/or Process Engineering position.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering
- As a minimum, 10 years’ experience in Process Engineering in the Oil and Gas environment.
Knowledge, skills, and experience
- Good working knowledge of MS Project and/or Primavera planning system
- Advanced MS Office skills (excel, word and power point)
- Advanced numeric skills
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and interact with design office personnel
- Good English language and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Conversant with the principles of capital and operating cost estimating
- Clear logical thinker, with the ability to make good decisions under pressure
- Ability to prioritise/balance multiple complex tasks and demands
- Ability to think outside of the box for problem solving
- Ability to ensure completion of assignment, despite obstacles and challenges.

- Highly literate to ensure clear communication, both verbally and written.
- Thorough knowledge of and hands on experience with computers and associated software packages.
- Analytical decision - making skills
