OSI Optoelectronics is seeking an Assembler to join their team. This individual will be responsible for the ongoing assembly of x-ray detector modules for external customers, supporting the research and development group.

Responsibilities

• Perform assembly of small parts using adhesives and fasteners. Some work to be done under a stereo microscope. Work includes: Epoxy mixing, use of epoxy applicator, measuring weight using a digital scale, painting small parts while viewing them under a microscope.
• Perform testing of completed modules in an x-ray cabinet using specialized software.
• Document work performed on paper travelers (e.g. serial numbers of detector crystals, mass of the epoxy shots applied, date of assembly, etc.).

• Demonstrate behavior consistent with the company’s Code of Ethics and Conduct.
• It is the responsibility of every employee to report to their manager or a member of senior management any quality problems or defects in order for corrective action to be implemented and to avoid recurrence of the problem.
• Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required. Relevant work experience may be substituted for a degree.
• 1+ years of precision assembly experience within a manufacturing environment or related experience required .
• Must be able to read and follow written instructions, travelers, drawings, and assembly documentation.
• Ability to perform detailed hand work while viewing parts through a stereo microscope required .
• Ability to document work on paper travelers required.
• Must maintain clean and organized work area.
• Strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and ability to perform repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy are essential.
• Must be able to use small hand tools (e.g. tweezers, small paint brushes) and microscope while handling parts regularly.
• Must have basic computer skills for performing module testing.
• Must be a team player.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate effectively using the business language (English).

Pay may range from $20.00 to $22.00 hourly

The pay range above represents annual base salary only. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.

Base salary is one component of your total rewards package. You may be eligible for long-term incentives, potential discretionary bonuses, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discounted rate through the Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP).
