Overview

The Business Development Support Specialist works in conjunction with the Business Development (BD) team. This is a Hybrid position and plays a critical role in supporting CTIS’s growth by actively contributing to core Business Development activities, including proposal development, capture support, outreach, communications, social media support, and early-stage prospect engagement.

The role is hands-on, requiring close collaboration with BD leadership, hiring managers, staffing partners, and internal stakeholders. The position supports growth initiatives (BD) and is designed to evolve as business needs expand.

Responsibilities

  • Actively support core Business Development activities related to proposals, capture efforts, pipeline development, and growth initiatives.
  • Conduct BD outreach in coordination with BD leadership, including engagement with prospective clients, partners, and industry contacts.
  • Support early-stage prospect engagement, including follow-ups, meeting coordination, and relationship tracking.
  • Contribute to proposal development by supporting content coordination, resume formatting, and internal resource alignment.
  • Conduct research on customers, markets, and opportunities to build working knowledge of CTIS core service areas and BD strategy
  • Coordinate internal availability and participation for BD and proposal-related activities.
  • Work closely with BD and capture teams to support proposal timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
  • Maintain organized BD pipelines, trackers, and records to support recurring and future opportunities.

Qualifications

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a Business Development environment
  • Demonstrated understanding of Business Development concepts , including proposal processes, capture support, pipeline development, and client engagement fundamentals.
  • Experience supporting or exposure to proposal development, capture activities, or BD coordination in a federal/GovCon environment preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with ATS platforms; iCIMS experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office (MS Excel and MS PowerPoint, in particular)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, multi-functional environment.
  • Interest in continued professional growth across both Talent Acquisition and Business Development functions.
