Overview
VIRGINIA Class Program Office Program Representative
The VIRGINIA Class Program continues to grow to support exciting future projects supporting implementing new design tasks that deliver new mission capability. This is a fast-paced, demanding program that requires energetic contributors to meet overall goals. This role offers a unique opportunity to have a direct impact on major decisions that will influence the design of the VIRGINIA Class and ensure that Electric Boat is successful during construction.
In the Program Office you will support all facets of the Electric Boat enterprise including Design and Engineering, Operations, Planning, Finance, Contracts, Construction, Facilities, and Navy customers. You will encounter new challenges where you can leverage your experience in new ways and define the overarching goals for a program. Through the Program Office, you will be exposed to a mix of tactical and strategic planning which shapes the future designs of ships. Program Office is the first line of defense against change and disruption; we are the first organization called on for help in fixing issues.
This position directly reports to the Program Supervisor and collaborates with the Program Manager. This position requires a highly motivated self-starter who can operate with minimal supervision and possesses strong interpersonal and communications skills. As a Program Representative you may interface with all departments within Electric Boat and numerous Government Agencies and contractors.
Responsibilities of this position may include, but are not limited to:
- Execution of program objectives that include design and engineering performance, component development and vendor performance, testing and prototype development and execution, and financial management to support program milestones.
- Coordinate with customer stakeholders with respect to program execution, requirements, and compliance.
- Creating and analyzing effective performance metrics to track program level progress in technical, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Collaborate across multiple engineering and design departments through Electric Boat to resolve programmatic and technical issues.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering or related Technical Discipline
- Ability to obtain and maintain, or currently possess, an active DoD Secret Clearance
Preferred
- Project management experience
- Detailed knowledge and experience working with government contracts
- Experience in working in both technical and business departments such as Engineering, Purchasing, Contracts, Program Finance, etc.
