Overview
In this position you will review customer drawings, specifications, and/or models using CATIA to convert them for manufacturing; develop manufacturing plans for parts and assemblies, create visual work instructions, collaborate with our customers engineering team to resolve technical issues and to ensure that we meet our customers quality and delivery requirements. You will also provide full shop support to address and resolve manufacturing questions and non-conformances.
The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of aircraft manufacturing. Experience with CATIA V5, reading customer drawings, parts lists, specifications and familiarity with MRP/ERP is ideal. Working knowledge of aerospace assembly & sheet metal manufacturing is preferred.
Effective, respectful communication skills across all departments and manufacturing shop floor is essential as well.
Responsibilities
- Requires ability to analyze drawings, routers and parts lists (BOMS) or any other technical documents.
- Requires verification on the computer of existing inventory and current quotes.
- Requires the ability obtain quotes from customers and vendors.
- Requires ability to analyze engineering and production data.
- Requires expert knowledge of manufacturing or machining processes.
- Requires ability to determine priority of RFQs.
- Requires ability to keep and maintain a working relationship with customers.
- Requires ability to use CATIA or other industry standard modeling software for drafting purposes.

Math Ability
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Experience
Three to five years’ experience in a manufacturing environment (machine shop, weld shop, precision sheet metal, assembly shop) or equivalent.
Education: Aerospace, Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering degree from an accredited college.
