Facilities Custodian

Overview

Standard Beverage is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Facilities Custodian to maintain a clean, safe, and organized distribution facility in Lawrence, Kansas. This position plays an important role in supporting warehouse operations by ensuring the warehouse is clean, organized, and well-maintained.

The Facilities Custodian performs a variety of cleaning and facility support duties, including operating commercial floor cleaning equipment, collecting waste, maintaining janitorial supplies, and assisting with general facility upkeep. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, takes pride in maintaining a clean work environment and demonstrates strong attention to detail. The ideal candidate has a consistent record of reliability, punctuality, and attendance.

Salary: $19.00 - $21.00 per hour.

The scheduled shift is Monday through Friday from 7:00a.m. to 3:30p.m.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness throughout the warehouse, offices, break rooms, restrooms, locker rooms, and other common areas.
• Sweep, dust mop, scrub, and mop warehouse floors and other hard surfaces.
• Operate and perform basic daily maintenance on commercial floor scrubbers and other cleaning equipment.
• Remove trash, recycling, cardboard, and other debris from designated collection points throughout the facility.
• Clean around warehouse racking, pallets, equipment, dock areas, and workstations.
• Clean and maintain entrances, sidewalks, parking areas, and other exterior grounds as assigned.
• Safely handle and use cleaning chemicals in accordance with company procedures and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Maintain janitorial closets, cleaning equipment, and inventory of cleaning and paper supplies.
• Monitor supply levels and notify management when replenishment is needed.
• Promptly report safety hazards, facility maintenance issues, damaged equipment, or unsafe conditions.
• Support company housekeeping, sanitation, and safety initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial, custodial, commercial cleaning, or warehouse maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to prioritize work and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Dependable with excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors.
• Ability to safely operate commercial cleaning equipment after training.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and following all company safety policies.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
• Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, reach, push, pull, and lift.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures and around moving warehouse equipment.
