Pharmacy Technician
Job description
Matrix Providers is hiring a Pharmacy Technician to join our team of talented professionals providing Pharmaceutical, Services to active duty, retired and dependent populations at The 23d Medical Group (23d MDG) at Moody AFB, GA.
- Employment Status: Full-time
- Compensation: This is an hourly position, paid bi-weekly $17.49 - 19.49/hr + H&W $4.93
- Schedule: Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, Flexible hours, 0700-1800, not to exceed 40 hours per week. Variations and lunch hour will be coordinated with the Government employee designee on duty.
- Current schedule: 7:30 a.m. -4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday excluding Federal Holidays and scheduled closures.

Requirements
- Degree : Certificate.
- Education : Graduate from a formal pharmacy technician program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) or a formal pharmacy technician program (i.e., technical, hospital, or retail-based program) or a formal medical services training program of the United States Military.
- Experience : One year of experience within the last two years as a pharmacy technician or 6-months pharmacy technician student clinical rotation experience within the past 2 years.
- Certifications :
- Certified by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB).
- Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Licensure : Must maintain a full, valid, unrestricted, and current license
Job Summary
- Perform comprehensive pharmacy technician duties, including prescription processing, dispensing, and medication preparation.
- Enter and manage prescription orders, patient profiles, and medication records in pharmacy systems.
- Fill new and refill outpatient prescriptions while ensuring accuracy and compliance with pharmacy procedures.
- Support patients, providers, and pharmacy staff by answering medication-related questions and identifying potential issues.
- Prepare, package, label, and dispense medications and supplies according to established guidelines.
- Compound medications and verify prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, compatibility, and completeness.
- Monitor medication storage, inventory, expiration dates, and quality control requirements.
- Coordinate pharmaceutical supply operations, including ordering, stocking, backorders, and inventory management.
- Maintain controlled substance accountability, documentation, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Provide administrative support, maintain accurate records, and collaborate with medical logistics and clinical teams to support patient care.
