Sales Engineer
Job description
Angott Search Group is pleased to partner with a global automotive supplier in the search for a Senior Sales Engineer.
This role is responsible for driving revenue growth, supporting key automotive customer accounts, and executing both regional and global sales strategies within a highly technical and fast-paced environment. The Senior Sales Engineer will serve as a critical link between engineering, sales, and customer organizations, ensuring strong alignment across product performance, commercial strategy, and long-term account development.
This is a high-visibility position with direct impact on key OEM relationships, forecasting, and long-term business planning within the automotive sector.
Responsibilities
- Drive revenue growth and achieve established sales and operating targets within assigned automotive accounts.
- Develop and execute account strategies in collaboration with the Sales Manager.
- Manage pre-sales activities, new business acquisition, and retention of existing business.
- Lead commercial discussions, including aftermarket negotiations and long-term agreements (LTAs).
- Build and maintain strong relationships with OEM customers and key stakeholders.
- Forecast annual and 5-year sales volumes and provide analysis supporting projections.
- Participate in global and regional key account reviews and new business meetings.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, program management, quality, and supply chain teams.
- Monitor customer KPIs (quality, delivery, performance) and ensure alignment with expectations.
- Support customer issue resolution with a focus on responsiveness and long-term relationship strength.
- Oversee commercial elements of customer agreements, including pricing, raw material adjustments, and contract performance.
- Maintain accurate reporting, documentation, and communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support international collaboration and cross-regional sales initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years of experience in technical sales, engineering, or project management (automotive industry strongly preferred).
- Experience with electro-mechanical products, ideally automotive rotating electrical machines (e.g., starters/alternators).
- 3+ years of project management experience required.
- Experience working with OEM systems/processes (GM and/or Hyundai APQP exposure highly desirable).
- Strong understanding of forecasting, account management, and commercial negotiations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional and global team environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Additional language skills (Spanish, German, Mandarin) a plus.
