Procurement Officer
Job description
We are seeking a proactive procurement officer to manage sourcing, vendor, relationships and supply chain efficiency. This role is critical in maintaining our reputation for delivering high-quality products to healthcare institutions. Key Responsibilities: Inventory Control: Monitor stock levels, forecast demand and maintain optimal inventory to prevent shortages or overstocking Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate and negotiate with reliable suppliers to ensure consistent product quality and timely delivery Compliance Assurance: Ensure procurement processes adhere to industry regulations, ethical standards and company policies Cost optimization: Implement strategies to reduce costs while maintaining product quality and supplier reliability Source and procure medical and pharmaceutical products from approved suppliers Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation Requirements Bachelor’s Degree, Diploma or Certificate in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Purchasing and Supplies, Logistics or a related field 1-3 years experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management, preferably within the healthcare, pharmaceutical or medical supplies industry Membership with a relevant professional body will be an added advantage Proven experience in procurement Strong negotiation and supplier management skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and inventory management systems Ability to work independently and as part of a team
