The Position
The Coordinator, Licensing & Copyright plays a key role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of Reservoir's publishing catalog across internal systems and external platforms. This position partners closely with the Licensing & Copyright team and cross-functional departments to support catalog administration, resolve rights-related issues, and help improve data quality, workflows, and operational processes.
- Support the onboarding of new songs, clients, and related assets into Reservoir's internal databases.
- Research and resolve missing or incomplete catalog metadata for new and existing agreements.
- Assist in managing Reservoir's catalog across digital platforms, including YouTube, TikTok, Meta, and other rights management systems by submitting claims and resolving conflicts.
- Investigate and resolve conflicts identified by Reservoir's sub-publishing network.
- Confirm publishing ownership splits with record labels, performing rights organizations, and other industry partners.
- Research catalog issues across direct sources to identify and resolve problems affecting content availability and playability.
- Process, compile, and respond to ACK files while ensuring accurate catalog ingestion.
- Participate in departmental initiatives, process improvements, and other special projects as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Music Business, Business Administration, or a related field.
- 1–2 years of experience in music publishing, rights administration, copyright, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of music publishing agreements, copyright administration, and royalty structures.
- Experience with Music Maestro or similar music rights administration systems.
- Familiarity with ASCAP, BMI, The MLC, and other collection society portals.
- Experience with digital rights management platforms, including YouTube CMS, Meta Rights Manager, TikTok, or similar systems.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables, and formulas.
- Strong analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A passion for music, publishing, and technology.
