Strategic Sales Development Representative - Trajaan

Why this role matters
As our new Strategic SDR, you’ll be joining one of the highest-attaining sales teams globally, leading the charge to help bring one of Cision’s newest and most innovative products to market at a pivotal moment for brands, marketing leaders and communications teams. As search behaviour changes and generative AI reshapes how people discover, compare, and trust brands, Trajaan helps enterprise organisations understand and act on these shifts.
You will play a key role in identifying the right opportunities, shaping the early sales motion, opening doors into strategic accounts, and helping educate senior decision-makers on an emerging category.
What You'll Do
- Purpose: Work with your Account Executive on strategic accounts to provide qualified meetings, creating pipeline for your Account Executive;
- Research new strategic target accounts, identify priority business units, best-fit personas, relevant triggers and tailored angles for outreach;
- Engage senior stakeholders across insights, marketing, communications, digital, brand, strategy, innovation and customer experience teams;
- Make targeted cold outreach to prospects daily, with the goal of scheduling initial discovery calls and platform demos, using calls, emails and social media;
- Build a pipeline of potential leads, and manage/nurture relationships using Salesloft, Salesforce, LinkedIn, and other platforms;
- Qualify leads using a structured discovery process (e.g. BANT);
- Build relationships with Account Directors to complement Trajaan outreach into existing accounts;
- Become a trusted expert on our brand, value offering, business, and SaaS product;
- Meet and exceed monthly targets (qualified opportunities);
- Stay current on industry news and understand the Search & GenAI intelligence landscape – become the expert. Use and apply this knowledge in your strategic account outreach;
- Represent Trajaan at marketing events when required.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in any field, analytical subjects are an advantage;
- Genuine curiosity about AI, search, digital behaviour, brands, consumer trends and how enterprise organisations make strategic decisions;
- Ability to turn a "no" into a "yes" through consultative questioning;
- Exceptional ability to organise work and manage multiple accounts.
- Experience in outbound new business generation;
- Confident cold-calling and handling rejection;
- Team player attitude, eager to be part of a high performing ambitious team;
- Ability to thrive in a quota driven environment;
- Excellent written and spoken English skills
Nice to have:
- Experience working with, or working in, enterprise level organisations;
- Exposure to SaaS, media intelligence, MarTech, insights, PR/comms or digital marketing;
- Analytical degree or research background;
- Other languages are a plus;
- This role suits someone who enjoys proactive outbound prospecting, is comfortable with high levels of ownership, and is motivated by building pipeline through thoughtful, persistent and creative outreach.
