T1 Energy is bringing solar manufacturing back to the U.S. by building a domestic solar supply chain. Our mission is to invigorate America with scalable, reliable, and low-cost energy. Our fully operational 5GW solar module facility in Wilmer, Texas, can manufacture more than 20,000 modules every 24 hours. The Role

T1 Energy is looking to hire an IPQA Technician I who is responsible for monitoring product quality throughout the manufacturing process to ensure compliance with company standards, customer requirements, and applicable industry regulations. This role performs routine inspections, audits, and testing while working closely with production personnel to identify quality issues and support continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Do

Perform in-process inspections at designated manufacturing stations.

Verify compliance with work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality standards.

Inspect incoming materials, work-in-process (WIP), and finished assemblies as required.

Monitor critical process parameters and record inspection results accurately.

Conduct visual inspections for defects such as

  • Cell cracks
  • Misalignment
  • Soldering defects
  • Lamination defects
  • Cosmetic defects
  • Glass contamination
  • Frame quality issues

Perform dimensional measurements using calibrated equipment. Escalate nonconforming products to Quality Engineers or Production Supervisors.

Generate and maintain quality documentation and inspection records.

Support containment activities for nonconforming material.

Participate in root cause investigations and corrective actions.

Verify implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 quality management requirements and company procedures.

Follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies.

Who You Are

High school diploma or GED.

2 years of manufacturing or quality inspection experience.

Basic understanding of quality inspection principles.

Maintain good attendance and punctuality.

Review all In-Process materials using Bill of Materials (BOM)

Effectively communicate all issues to leaders of various departments to ensure correction and compliance.

Escalate and support other departments for non-conforming issues.

Conduct routine quality inspections and audits on the production line to ensure compliance with T1s Quality Management System (QMS).

Perform various lab tests on In-Process samples (e.g., tensile strength, chemical tests) in accordance with T1’s sampling plan.

Identify, isolate, and properly label non-conforming products and material

Read and interpret various technical documents and specifications

Perform In-Process measuring on solar panels using designated lab equipment and inspection tools.

Obtain In-Process samples for laboratory testing.

Record inspection results accurately and enter data into the Quality Management Database/System

Adhere to all safety protocols and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment

Patrol designated lines/areas for entire shift to reduce non-conforming products

Perform daily testing such as; module water leak test, Junction box module test and glue ratios on different lines stations.

Qualifications

Experience in photovoltaic (PV) module or solar cell manufacturing.

Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.

Experience using calipers, micrometers, gauges, or measuring equipment.

Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC).

Understanding of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma concepts.

Basic understanding of quality inspection principles.

Ability to read work instructions and engineering drawings.

Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, MES, ERP, or quality systems).

Good written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
