OVERVIEW Full-time/Permanent Employee Location: Hollywood, MD Aether Aerospace has a contract to provide sustainment services for the VENOM Autonomy Kit (VAK) on six F-16C aircraft at Eglin AFB. The VAK was designed and installed by an Aether Aerospace team.  The Maintenance Supervisor will lead and oversee avionics, electrical, and structural maintenance, repair, and inspection activities of the VAK components.  The supervisor will direct a team of avionics and structural technicians, ensure adherence to technical standards, and collaborate with local USAF maintenance teams to maintain the aircraft in flying condition.  This role requires extensive experience with military aircraft maintenance and a proven background supervising teams performing complex maintenance activities. The proposed salary range for this position is $120,000. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.

RESPONSIBILITIES •

Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on F‑16 avionics systems, including navigation, communication, weapons control, flight‑control electronics, and electrical distribution systems.

Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions using system test sets, built‑in test (BIT) data, and advanced diagnostic tools.

Remove, install, repair, and align avionics line‑replaceable units (LRUs) in accordance with technical orders and standard procedures.

Conduct operational checks, system calibrations, and functional tests to verify serviceability and mission readiness.

Document maintenance actions accurately in aircraft forms, digital maintenance systems, and work tracking tools.

Collaborate with aircrew, engineers, and other maintenance specialties to resolve complex system issues.

Ensure all work complies with safety standards, security requirements, and quality assurance practices.

Support aircraft modifications, upgrades, and special mission equipment integration as required.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS Clearance: Ability to obtain Secret clearance.

Education: A HS diploma or equivalent

Experience as an F‑16 avionics technician or equivalent military occupational specialty (e.g., USAF AFSC 2A3X3 or international equivalent).

Strong understanding of aircraft electrical and electronic principles.

Ability to read and interpret technical orders, wiring diagrams, and schematics.

Proficiency with avionics test equipment and maintenance information systems.

Ability to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances if required.

Physical ability to work in confined spaces, on various aircraft surfaces, and in varying environmental conditions.

PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS •

Prior experience on Block 40/50/52 or other advanced F‑16 configurations.

Familiarity with integrated avionics suites, including fire‑control radar, mission computers, and data link systems.

Certifications related to aerospace maintenance or electronics (e.g., A&P, FCC license).

  • Experience in depot‑level repair, modification programs, or foreign military sales (FMS) support.
