The Threat Protection department is responsible for all of the cybersecurity features inside our products to secure our users from malicious actions and ensure customer privacy. To achieve the desired security goals, we are sharp and base our attitude on high ethical standards and integrity.
Our Threat Protection team combines its expertise and innovative approach to develop advanced, trustworthy products for our users. We acknowledge that success starts with having the right people in the right place. Currently, we’re looking for new team members to join us.
The Threat Protection Team’s mission is encoded in its name - we provide threat protection software-defined solutions for our users. Our team is passionate about solving complex systems, network, software development, automation, and programming-related riddles. Our projects vary from the privacy of the user to malware protection. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- Contribute to the development of Threat Protection features for the NordVPN application with support from experienced team members;
- Implement, improve, debug, and maintain software components using C++ and related technologies;
- Work with selected parts of the system, such as libraries, tools, native application components, and platform-specific integrations;
- Write clear, maintainable, and testable code following team standards and best practices;
- Test your own work using appropriate methods, such as unit tests, integration tests, manual validation, or debugging tools;
- Participate in code reviews by learning from feedback, improving your solutions, and gradually contributing constructive feedback to others;
- Collaborate openly with team members, ask questions when needed, and communicate progress, blockers, and risks in a timely manner.
CORE REQUIREMENTS
- 1+ year of C++ experience (commercial or proven via side projects)
EXPERIENCE OR INTEREST IN ANY OF THE FOLLOWING WOULD BE HELPFUL, BUT IS NOT REQUIRED:
- C# or Swift;
- Windows or macOS development;
- Multi-language interoperability;
- Build systems and package managers such as CMake, Conan, or similar tools;
- CI/CD pipelines;
- Python scripting;
- Security, networking, privacy, or threat protection topics.
