Accounting Specialist Senior IV

***This position is physically located in the Marshall Islands in support of LOGCAP***

Under broad direction performs a full range of duties related to processing a variety of financial transactions in support of operations with computerized accounting systems

Responsibilities

• Perform as senior member of team, providing assistance and coordination with other departments as needed.
• Train and assist RMI workforce with timely and accurate timekeeping entries
• Reconcile all Balance Sheet Accounts including bank reconciliation
• Ensure the subsidiary ledgers are reconciled with the control accounts
• Reviews the accounts receivable on a monthly or periodic basis
• Act as Liaison between employees and company payroll department
• Completion of monthly journal entries, general ledger account analysis and other assigned actions
• Ensures compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• File, prepare, and upload accounting documentation to SharePoint
• Keep track for all work orders and provisions related to non-cash sales
• Travel to neighboring islands as required in support of Finance retail business operations
• Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum Qualifications : Education/Certifications: One-year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required.
• High School diploma.
• Experience of five (5) years handling and safeguarding cash and related supporting documentation for a medium-large company preferred.
• Must not have anything on a local police report that will prevent working on Kwajalein Atoll.
• Must have ability to obtain a Kwajalein Installation Badge.
• Experience :
• Ten or more years of experience in Finance or Accounting or retail business operations.
• Additional experience with cost accounting preferred. Understanding of program operations and related accounting controls
• Skills:
• Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential.
• Strong working knowledge of automated financial systems and proficiency with database and spreadsheet software.
• Working Conditions:
• Must be capable of working in an extreme weather conditions with temperatures exceeding 85 degrees Fahrenheit.
• Indoor and/or outdoor environment with very adverse and harsh conditions (i.e., hot, wet, tropical environment with average temperatures of 85 degrees in the summer months).
• Includes some industrial production environment conditions as well.
• The worker is subject to environmental conditions. Protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes
• Physical Requirements:
• Light work. Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Employee use of personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for some situations. PPE includes, but is not limited to, head, foot, torso, respiratory, vision, and hearing protective devices.
• Must comply with all Fire and Safety Regulations and post policies.
