Position Summary Department: LMH Imaging - Ultrasound Status: Pool (PER DIEM / AS NEEDED) Schedule: Varies Title: Sonographer Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital Orlando Health Lake Mary Hospital represents Orlando Health’s continued commitment to the Seminole County community, which we have proudly served for 40 years. As a comprehensive acute care facility, the hospital offers a full scope of medical and surgical services, including cardiovascular, general surgery, orthopedics, and women’s services with labor and delivery, alongside a future NICU. Opening with 124 beds, the 455,000 square foot hospital will be able to expand to up to 240 beds. State-of-the-art facilities include operating rooms, catheterization labs, interventional radiology, a vascular lab, an ICU and a full-service emergency department. For labor and delivery, the hospital features six private suites thoughtfully designed to make you feel at home while providing exceptional medical care. Position Summary: Provides quality patient care when performing diagnostic sonographic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention. Responsibilities Essential Functions • Works closely with Radiologist to perform diagnostic sonographic exams. • Demonstrates professional judgment in service delivery and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care. • Delivers appropriate care, recognizes patient conditions, and ensures successful completion of procedures. • Complies with allstate and federal regulations applicable to each modality. • Adheresto Orlando Health mission statement and commitment to excellence standards. • Assessesthe patient’s physical condition and age specific needs. • Provides instructions to achieve patient cooperation and desired results. • Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient’s clinical history and ensures accurate documentation. • Positions patient, equipment, and associated devices. Manipulates technical factors to achieve high-quality images for interpretation. • Assesses diagnostic imagesfor technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification, ensuring that allrelative anatomy is demonstrated. • Comprehends and complies with Quality Controlstandards and participatesin all Quality Control tasks. • Administers medical aid asrequired for any emergency situation. • Applies appropriate standard precautions and use of personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination of contagious diseases. • Assists in supervising student sonographers. • Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately. • Ensuresthe safety of all customers. • Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards. • Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies, procedures, department guidelines, and education requirements. Qualifications Education/Training Graduate of an accredited school of sonography and meets American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS) eligibility guidelines. Licensure/Certification • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer(RDMS)registered through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). • Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certificate. Experience Knowledge of routine ultrasound procedures which may include invasive procedures such as biopsies, amniocentesis, thoracentesis, breast cyst aspiration, and breast localization, and knowledge of Doppler, 3D/4D, and pediatric sonography.
