Fairview is looking for a Clinical Informaticist to join our team at our Fairview Stinson location in Minneapolis, MN. The Clinical Informaticist is knowledgeable in the use of health information technology (HIT) applied to clinical care and health care business operations. They are responsible for the design and development of electronic health record (EHR) and health information technology (HIT) content for mission critical learning programs, including (but not limited to) web-based learning, instructor-led training, blended instruction solutions, and virtual instructor-led sessions aligned with instructional design methodologies and principles. This role develops learning using programs like Snag-it, Camtasia, Ancile uPerform, and Microsoft Office 365 while integrating deliverables such as technical product videos and online learning modules into learning management systems across multiple delivery platforms. The Clinical Informaticist is responsible for all elements of the vendor required Principal Trainer certification for their assigned application, including Epic training environment build, upgrade education, and Epic course curriculum.

Responsibilities
- Uses informatics concepts, methods, and tools to promote safe, effective, and optimal use of technologies and are focused on the interaction of people, processes and technology for the complete and accurate delivery of information needed for efficient, high quality and safe patient care.
- Design and develop training content that engages learners and aligns with identified outcomes and adult learning principles. Reviews evaluative data regarding training content and modifies content as appropriate.
- Collaborate across clinical informatics teams (medical informatics, clinical decision support, clinical content, instructional design, site support & training, design & optimization, clinical technologies), analytics, information technology, practice and education, and operational teams to meet goals and create training content.
- Apply knowledge of human-computer interaction, usability heuristics, and adult learning principles to the design and creation of learning collateral.
- Acquire and maintain knowledge of EHR and HIT use across multiple service lines, domains, care settings, and Epic modules and environments.
- Adept in PDSA methods and change management, serving as change agents themselves.
- Manage through all phases of learning projects including analysis, design, development, change management, communication, implementation, & evaluation.
- Team with informatics, IT, and operational colleagues to assess, plan, and evaluate changes to systems and identify the impact to clinical workflows to plan for associated learning needs. Independently develops, plans, estimates, and analyzes the impact of viable learning solution options to address business needs.
- Maintain the Epic training/practice environments and learning home dashboard with supervision. Build patient profiles and histories appropriate to the audience, clinical workflow, and learning requirements in the training/practice environments.
- Independently gathers and documents simple to moderately complex business requirements and process/workflows.
- Ability to travel to/from M Health Fairview locations for site visits, rounding, and other activities related to the role. Responsible for working on-call shifts as scheduled.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Arts in health care or related field from an accredited program
- informatics degree from an accredited institution or combination of education and experience
- 1 year clinical healthcare experience and/or 1 year informatics-related experience working in a health system directly with end users.
- designing virtual training or facilitating and producing virtual training.
- Understanding of clinical care workflows, health care operations, and have a working knowledge of computer systems lifecycle management
- Demonstrates accountability for work and completes them on time with minimal rework and guidance.
- Available to work scheduled on call rotations.
- Access to reliable transportation
- Maintain current Epic certifications per vendor requirements and/or commitment to obtaining Epic certification within 180 Days

Compensation Disclaimer
The posted pay range is for a 40-hour workweek (1.0 FTE). The actual rate of pay offered within this range may depend on several factors, such as FTE, skills, knowledge, relevant education, experience, and market conditions. Additionally, our organization values pay equity and considers the internal equity of our team when making any offer. Hiring at the maximum of the range is not typical.
